'ello 'ello! ^_^
We're back, we're alive (sorta lol) and Metrocon totally rocked! ^_______^
Ok, so my brain still feels like mush but I shall try to give a short run down of our weekend.
First and foremost, of course, is that Scott is every bit as dynamic and lovable as he seems ^_____^ What a great guy. Regrefully, my daughter failed to record it when I showed him the art I did for him, she got a still pic but no vid :( *cries* which I haven't had time to download out of the cam yet but his eyes got so big I thought I might blast off then this huge grin spread over his face and he turns it, stands up and holds it over his head and shows it to the crowd of ppl waitng for autographs who subsequently roared their approval to which I replied with my impression of Rocky Balbowa (or however you spell it) *MEGAGRIN!!* ^___________________________^ he also mentioned it in his panel later which I hopeHOPEhope I got on the vid!!!! I shall cry pitiously if it didn't come out *nods*
The man is just amazing. There was this kid in line with me at one of the autograph sessions who had never been to a con before and was only just figuring out all the who's Scott is. It was so amusing to see this 19/20 yo guy go all starry eyed when he came away from Scott's line lol He kept going on about how he's got some sort of energy surrounding him that you can feel, like stepping inside his 'aura' *g* which is true but the greatest thing about meeting Scott in person is that he gives the BESTEST HUGS EVER!!! lol No holds barred...if we could can that we could achieve world peace... np ^_^
Mark was pretty much exactly how I expected him to be except he's much more striking in person. I mean I'd seen pic's of him etc. but they don't do him justice. He's almost ethereal to watch in motion. His features are almost elven at certain angles and he turned out to be a lot of fun. He was being careful, no doubt, due to certain occurances in the past, nost of which involve Scott's hands, lips or other portions of his person connecting with Marks lol but he cut up with everyone else and we got some major giggles out of him.
His concert got messed up because of tech prob's but his performance was awesome in spite of it. The guy has a great voice and a wonderful style I think will bring us some good music in the furture ^_^
I fell in love with Brian in a whole different way. He hit my 'big brother' bone right off lol I have three older bro's but I'd make room for another in a heartbeat if he wanted the job. We ran into him Sunday in the dealers room (which was sort of lame because they didn't have any food or drink in there O.o?) Someone was selling kodama plushies and he saw one in the audiance during one of the panels and bothered to ask where they'd gotten it but said they were sold out by the time he got there. I've been thinking about making some for a couple of years now so I told him if I manage to pull it off I'd make one for him and earned myself a nice, warm hug that spoke of family reunions and much gratitude ^_^ He was pleased so now I have a good reason to actually make it happen *g*
and then there was Brad lol What a guy! He was totally awesome! He's much more powerful in person that his pic's let on and is a multitalented individual. I just loved his contrary comments like when somone asked what his fav roll was he'd go on about one and claim it, then go on to another and claim it too and so on lol He also played the theme from Deathnote for us (which I have shamefully not watched because I'm still working on the manga :( ) on his guitar and so totally rocked! I was thrilled when he drew his chibi Quatre on the composit pic I did for them to autograph and complimented me with a stunned 'wow.. that's really great' when I presented it to him ^_^ He'd already seen the smaller version because I gave him a copy I printed on my home system to keep but the one for my wall (which I had to have my printer make for me and sadely cost money so is one of a kind :( ) is 20x20 and a bit more impressive to look at than the bitty one lol So I have a Q sketch drawn by Q himself! lol ^_________^
He also mentioned he's working on sewing his own cosplay of Sandrock! *squeeeeeeeeee!!* This hit a special love bone in the tail of my spine because animatronic's is one of my first loves!! He also told us about a cosplay he once made for himself of Hans Solo riding a Tan Tan! One with working eyes and a puppet head he could make open and close it's mouth etc. It was one of those where the Tan Tan's legs are actually the cosplayers legs and "Hans" legs were fake ones that dangled along the outside. Gods I wanted to see pic's but I never ran into him outside of the panels and I couldn't get a VIP ticket so I didn't get a chance to ask. *pouts*
Kirby was a hoot. He seemed so totally out of his element lol But he was fun and I got a kick out of watching him make crazy faces when he talked about voicing Miroku lol He seemd to have some sort of facination for that character though I can't imagine why *whistles innocently* lol
There were so many amazing cosplays (including a Heavyarms!) Even Relena and Wufei popped up here and there and
link_worshiper (who is also a hoot and a fountain of useful information ^_^) said she even saw someone cosplaying Howard though I never happened across it. :(
It was fun getting to meet Link and her crew and
vega_lume_chan whose cosplays were so awesome I had no idea who she was when she showed up without one lol
Sadly the dealers room was lacking but I did find an awesome set of brushes that hopefully will inspire me to paint something in traditional media and a copy of the first season of Saiyuki which I have yet to see but I have it on good athority it's worth owning ^_^
I'll post some pic's as soon as I get it all sorted out though I have to work every day this week and next, catch up on the commissions that have been waiting for me to take my little jaunt into la la land lol and about a dozen other things but I'll get some up at some point ^_^
Gods there's just so much more but sadly I'm still exhausted and can't think straight. We didn't get home till late because the claiper on my right front brakes decided to seize up just outside of Tampa on the way home. However, the Gods of discord that usually so dutifully cast my life into chaos were thwarted this time because as I sat there preparing for to wail a kind gentleman by the name of Ken asked the one question that so is so often missing from the human language. "Do you need help?" Yep, the man not only asked but got out leaving his four kids to putter around the sidewalk, diagnosed the prob, found an open parts store at 6:50 on a Sunday evening, took me there so we could get the part then put it on for me. So, whoever's been ligting candles in my name... thanks! *smooches the general populaion" *g*
I'll post pic's as soon as I can and thanks to everyone for being patient about the commissions for this. It was just the best thing that's happened to me in years and I so appreciate your patience and support *smooches* ^________^
